IN THE NEWS: A New Era in Women’s Correctional Reform

New Jersey officials and advocates gathered to break ground on a $312 million, campus-style women’s correctional facility in Chesterfield, New Jersey.

The new “purpose-built” facility is designed to better support the rehabilitation of incarcerated women – expanding opportunities for education, vocational learning, mental health support and other programming. By 2028, the facility will be fully open and operational, providing a safe, dignified setting that supports women in building long-term stability and success.
