World Suicide Prevention Awareness Month

September 10, 2025

On World Suicide Prevention Day, we want to take a moment to reflect on the profound weight this day carries, especially within the reentry community. We understand that incarceration takes a significant toll on an individual’s mental health, and the journey of reentering communities presents its own unique challenges. Ensuring comprehensive support and accessible resources are readily available for those on the reentry journey is not just important – it is absolutely critical to fostering and maintaining healthy minds.

It is our collective responsibility to ensure that mental health services are robust and tailored for individuals navigating reentry. The Reentry Coalition of New Jersey makes it a top priority to offer various mental health-related resources and support for individuals post-incarceration.
