NJLEAD grants support community organizations helping justice-impacted individuals build stable futures through reentry programs.
Recidivism in New Jersey has reached a record low, with just 6% of individuals receiving a new conviction within three years of release. This progress is possible because reentry programs are making a difference and continue to invest in second chances.
The NJLEAD (New Jersey Locally Empowered, Accountable, and Determined) initiative helps bridge the gap for individuals returning home from incarceration by investing directly in trusted grassroots and community organizations. Through support for immediate needs like housing assistance and long-term opportunities such as vocational training, these sub-grants helps remove barriers to successful reentry.
The Reentry Coalition of New Jersey is proud to celebrate two of our agency members, Education & Health Centers of America, Inc. (EHCA) and The Kintock Group, as recipients of the latest NJLEAD grants awarded through the New Jersey Department of Corrections for their reentry programs. Their work is helping build safer, stronger communities by supporting individuals on their path to successful reentry.
