World Mental Health Day

October 10, 2025

On World Mental Health Day, we pause to recognize a truth often overlooked: mental health plays a critical role in the reentry journey. When individuals return to their communities post-incarceration, many return carrying invisible burdens – trauma, stress, anxiety – that impact their ability to continue on a path towards success.

That’s why we believe mental health support must be central, not optional, in reentry services. When people have access to counseling, therapy, peer support and trauma-informed care during the reentry process, it strengthens and empowers them – allowing them to secure housing, maintain employment, rebuild relationships and reduce the risk of recidivism.
