Reentry is the process of preparing for release from incarceration and transitioning back into the community.
In New Jersey alone, between 7,000 and 9,000 individuals return home each year. Many individuals, especially those who have been incarcerated long-term, need guidance, support and access to services to help rebuild their lives and navigate this transition.
Without reentry programs, the risk of reoffending increases, often leading individuals back into the justice system and away from opportunities to thrive. That’s why The Reentry Coalition of New Jersey operates and exists – to support individuals on their path forward and help make successful reentry possible.
