Parole & Probation – How Are They Different?

Parole and Probation are often confused – but they’re not the same. However, violating either can result in revocation and possible incarceration.
Here’s a quick breakdown:
✅ Parole is supervised release in the community after someone has served time in prison, and it continues until their sentence is complete.
✅ Probation is a court-ordered alternative to incarceration, allowing someone to remain in the community under supervision for a set period of time.
